    hi. was considering building the LayerFused X301. is it still worth building it in 2024? would the specs match up with current off-the-shelf products around it's price range - $1000 according to the excel sheet provided - like the Creality K1 Max CoreXY - how is the X301 compared to that? it seems the LayerFused shop site is down - meaning the parts required (from them) are unavailable - making the build difficult. and does the excel sheet consist of everything needed to build the X301? what do you suggest? should i build or buy?

      2024 has a lot to choose from and I personally recommend the Bambu Lab line of coreXY or the SV08 for off the shelf builds, they work great. If you want to learn, or build your own build, the X301 is still a viable platform. Its a rather simple coreXY build all things considered and great to learn with. IF you're looking to build a machine with every bell and whistle, then you might want to look at other builds with more ongoing support. Overall though its still a basic 3D printer build. You can likely reduce the cost further ordering from say Aliexpress. If its your first printer though, buy something like the Bambu X1C, you'll be much happier with the overall experience OOTB.

    for whatever it's worth, they likely tested in a more aggitated bath of water. From how easily those tore apart if the water were even slightly more aggitated it would have begun to crumble and "turn to dust" on it's own. They were likely testing in conditions that would intentionally accelerate degradation so that you could see years and years of degradation over a few days. That sounds like a long time, but dead trees, fallen branches, etc. also last years and years. Now whether or not this was *_bio_* degradation or not is another story. In landfill conditions I believe that, yes, PLA can biodegrade quite successfully, but I'm not sure about how well it biodegrades otherwise. I'd like to assume that once it gets to fine enough particles then, even if it doesn't naturally biodegrade, things eating and processing it would finish the job, but it's hard to say.

    Couple problems, water will not go to the bottom since it mixes with the IPA, and this should remove particulates but not necessarily organic solvents that can be invisible and accumulate overtime (need to doublecheck this). Basically the moment I saw you say that the water will not be in the final mixture because of the decanting I realized I actually have to discard the whole explanation because you have not researched any of this. Sorry but putting advice like this without checking it properly is quite dangerous.

    Hello. I'm from Poland. I liked your project. Currently working on a vehicle that uses electric skateboard software and controllers. In the first version, the vehicle is controlled by a joystick connected to ESP32, which connects to ESP32 via WIFI. This works very nice! I thought it would be worth the vehicle that was driven using this ESP32-CAM. Could you suggest how to do this? I think that the current look of the code will not be suitable because the vehicle is supposed to appear behind a moving object and the current ESP32-CAM is not moving. It only does this when the object is moving. Stop and follow the object. It won't work for me. thank you for every tip.

    Does the capacitator you installed works as a fade out for the leds when the ESP32 is unplugged from the power? Thanks.

    • @MakersMashup
      @MakersMashup 2 місяці тому

      Its not designed that way but you'll see that if you remove the power. The reason is the stored energy in the capacitor. Its in place to even out the voltage ripples and give a more consistent power supply. When you shut off the power it still has to drain the capacitors power, which is why it "fades out". Additionally this is why you hear never open microwaves or old TV's with large capacitors in them. The energy remains stored until the capacitor is discharged. You should always discharge a capacitor before replacing / removing it. In this case our circuit always drains the capacitor which is the fade out you see.

    The Code of "RunoutAnywhere.ino" does not compile properly because the call to 'HTTPClient::begin' declared with attribute error: obsolete API, use ::begin(WiFiClient,url) leads to an error. The solution is to substitute 'http.begin(String(OCTOPRINT_BASE_URL) + String("/api/job"))' with 'http.begin(client, String(OCTOPRINT_BASE_URL)+ String("/api/job"))', and then the code compiles well. Thank you very much to the Author of the Code for let us participate of her or his work.
